ÁRON ECSEDY
I began my dancing career with competitive international latin american and ballroom dancing between 1993-2001, results ranging from finals to first place at national championships. Beginning from 1995 I also studied jazz ballet, classical ballet, contemporary dance styles (mainly the Graham-method), contact dance techniques as supplementary training for my main interest. As a great fan of authentic tango music, I started to study authentic (Argentine) tango dancing in 1999. In 2000 I have participated in the creation of a 90 minute tango-dance theater peace titled "The House of Dona Lucrezia" based loosely on the movie "La casa del amor". I was participating in a show together with the Budapest Dance Theater (lead choreographer Béla FÖLDI) in Croatia. In 2002, I participated in the creation of a new show titled "The Seasons of Buenos Aires". The show incorporated tango and contemporary elements with live music (by Astor Piazzola and other well-known tango musicians). This piece was on programme for half a year at the Hungarian National Dance Theater. In 2004/5 I took part in the creation of a new show titled "Tango Express", experimenting with a greater integration of contemporary styles and tango, now playing regularly at the National Dance Theater. In the mentioned pieces I worked together with dancer/choreographer László BUDAI, dancers Johanna KULIK, Josip BARTULOVIÇ, Veronika VÁMOS, Tibor DUDÁS among others. I am the creator and administrator of a website and an Internet discussion forum on tango (holding together all activities related to tango in Hungary) with more than 230 registered members . I am also the founder and maintainer of Milonga.hu. I also do research on the history of tango (and social dancing) as a hobby. Formerly I worked as a consultant/coordinator for the Hungarian Ministry of Education on European education.
